Mrembo huyo ambaye nyota yake ilianza kung’aa na kujizolea umaarufu baada ya kutwaa taji la Miss Tanzania 2006, kukondeana kwake kumezua mijadala mbalimbali huku baadhi yao wakisema amekatwa utumbo.

Wakati Dokta Omondi akihitimisha mahojiano na gazeti hili mrembo mwingine kutoka Nairobi nchini Kenya aliyejitambulisha kwa jina la Tajilaimana Mohammed amesema naye ni miongoni mwa waliofanyiwa mpango wa upasuaji na Viva Serenity kwa ajili ya kupunguza unene.

Tajilaimana amesema alikwenda kwenye taasisi hiyo akiwa na kilo 140 ambapo alifanyiwa upasuaji huo ambapo mwili wake ulipungua mpaka kilo 67 lakini aliona kama amekonda sana hivyo alifanya tena upasuaji kwa ajili ya kuongezeka mwili mpaka kilo 80 alizokuwa akizihitaji, alisema Tajilaimana.

Viva Serenity ni taasisi iliyoanzia nchini Kenya ambapo sasa imeingia hapa nchini kwa ajili ya kuwahudumia wanaotaka kupunguza miili yao ambapo Dokta Omondi amewaomba warembo vibonge wanaotaka kuwa mamondo wajitokeze kwenda kwenye taasisi hiyo ili iwahudumie.

Frankie Amaya and Caden Clarkscored a goal in each half as the New York Red Bulls handed former head coach Chris Armas and Toronto FC a 2-0 defeat Saturday afternoon at Red Bull Arena.

Amaya’s first goal for the Red Bulls started with Clark stripping Marky Delgado and making a penetrating run before finding Fabio in the box. With back to goal, the Brazilian laid the ball off to Amaya, who fired a low, well-struck shot inside the near post from just outside the 18-yard box.

Fabio, who picked up his third assist — and second on a layoff — nearly scored his first goal for his on-loan club. But Fabio couldn’t direct a Cristian Casseres pass that sliced through the Toronto FC defense and took Alex Bono off his line, with the ball going harmlessly off his chest and over the end line.

That miss proved to be a minor footnote because Clark put the match away in the 69th minute with his third goal of the season. Dru Yearwoodplayed a through ball to Fabio, which forced Bono off his line to challenge. The ball caromed off the Toronto FC goalkeeper and Clark pounced to fire the insurance goal into the empty net.

• THE BIG PICTURE: After opening the season with consecutive defeats, the Red Bulls have strung together back-to-back clean sheet wins at Red Bull Arena, looking more and more comfortable under a new coach. Toronto FC, which came into the match off CCL disappointment, continues to search for a first league win. But new Designated Player signing Yeferson Soteldo, who made his debut off the substitute’s bench in the 55th minute, showed flashes of what’s to come. 
• MOMENT OF THE MATCH: This was the only goal the Red Bulls would need. Amaya gets the glory, but it doesn’t happen if not for Clark’s work to create the turnover.

• MAN OF THE MATCH: It’s that kid again. Clark’s pressure and penetrating run set up Amaya’s goal and then the 17-year-old continued his run into the box to clean up the scraps of Yearwood’s dangerous pass into the box.

Orlando City and New York City FCplayed to a 1-1 draw on Saturday at Exploria Stadium as in-form attackers Nani and Valentin Castellanos once again got on the scoresheet.

The result puts NYCFC top of the Eastern Conference with seven points from their four games, with Orlando just one point back.

In their first meeting since last year’s dramatic playoff encounter won by Orlando after a memorable penalty shootout, there was little between the teams in the first half. One of New York City’s best chances of the first half came from Andres Jasson‘s eighth minute shot that was saved.

Orlando improved as play returned for the second half, and truly started to command the match. The hosts were rewarded for their forward-thinking efforts in the 52nd minute, when Nani scored his third goal in as many games. Mauricio Pereyra received the ball on the edge of the penalty area, noticing that Nani was making a run behind him. Nani then made his way to the edge of the penalty area and the took the shot from there, sending the ball arrowing into the back of the net.

Orlando came close to another in the 61st minute, when Tesho Akindele‘s shot from close range was deflected by Maxime Chanot for a corner kick.

That momentum came to a halt in the 75th minute, when Joao Moutinhocommitted a clumsy foul against Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and conceded a penalty. Castellanos converted from the spot, becoming one of only five MLS players in history to open a season with four goals in four games.

In a wide-open final 10 minutes, with both sides searched for a go-ahead goal. New York City had a little more life after getting an equalizer, and Castellanos got close to his fifth goal this season when an 86th minute opportunity went just wide of the goal, and Medina’s opportunity in the dying seconds was saved. Despite a desperate search for a goal from both sides, they ended the match level.

After a disappointing loss in their home opener just two weeks ago, the Colorado Rapids came back to take all three points in their match-up against Minnesota United FC in a 3-2 win on a rainy night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

Emanuel Reynoso left Minnesota  United’s last game against Austin FCwith a calf injury but showed that he was back and ready to go tonight. The Argentinian sent in a through ball that resulted in a shot in the first two minutes of the game and then kicked off scoring for the visiting side in the 17th minute on a free kick from nearly 30 yards out. Hassani Dotson added his second goal of the season a few minutes later to give the Loons a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

Colorado came out firing in the second half and eventually their pressure paid off. Continuing to be dangerous on set pieces, Jack Price served up a corner kick that bounced around the box from and then out to Kellyn Acosta, who volleyed a shot past Minnesota goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair to put the home side on the board.

The Rapids kept up the intensity and homegrown Cole Bassett found the equalizer with just under 20 minutes to go. As the game was winding down, defender Danny Wilson added a third on yet another set piece from the foot of Price to complete the comeback and give Colorado their first home win of the 2021 regular season.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez lived up to his star billing in the first El Trafico of the 2021 MLS season, providing one goal and one assist in the LA Galaxy’s 2-1 win over rivals LAFC on Saturday night at Dignity Health Sports Park.

LA stormed out to a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute through Chicharito, who tucked home a right-footed curler past Pablo Sisniega to continue his red-hot start to 2021. Mexico’s all-time leading scorer latched onto a wayward ball after Derrick Williams landed a stiff challenge on Jose Cifuentes, creating a counter-attack when LAFC thought they were breaking forward.

Then in the 79th minute, Chicharito set up the eventual game-winner from midfielder Jonathan dos Santos. Chicharito collected a low cross from second-half substitute Cameron Dunbar and sent a blind pass across goal that dos Santos punched home after a late-arriving run.

In between, LAFC’s persistent pressure paid off in the 62nd minute. Diego Rossi dispatched some tic-tac-toe combination play past goalkeeper Jonathan Bond, with Latif Blessing and Corey Baird combining atop the 18-yard box before Rossi’s slashing run produced an equalizer at 1-1.

LAFC also had a great look in the 32nd minute, though Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond answered the call to deny back-to-back attempts from Rossi and Blessing after a turnover on the right flank.

Three Things

• BIG PICTURE: In his El Trafico debut, Chicharito matched the moment and then some. He’s carried the Galaxy to three wins through their first four games of 2021, taking important strides forward under head coach Greg Vanney. As for LAFC, they enjoyed large portions of possession and generated quality goalscoring opportunities. But the final product was in short supply, leaving them winless through three games. They’re also still without star forward Carlos Vela, who hasn’t featured since a Week 1 win over Austin FC.
• MOMENT OF THE MATCH: Jonathan dos Santos’ goal was immense for LA, giving them an all-important rivalry victory. It was the Mexican international’s first tally since an October 2019 playoff match against Minnesota United FC.

In the aftermath of LAFC’s 2-1 setback Saturday night against the LA Galaxy, head coach Bob Bradley was quick to label Jonathan dos Santos’ game-winner a “careless moment,” at least from the visitor’s perspective.

Center back Jesus David Murillo was dispossessed near the corner flag by LA homegrown teenager Cameron Dunbar, who sent a low cross into Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. The early Golden Boot presented by Audi leader chopped his way past Tristan Blackmon, and a hopeful ball was punched home by dos Santos at the back post in the 79th minute.

Momentum in the season’s first El Trafico shifted toward the Carson crew, and the Black & Gold never quite mustered a response.

“When we went down 2-1, our response at that time wasn’t collective enough and strong enough,” Bradley said matter-of-factly. “Some poor fouls that allowed them to waste some time and not enough sustained attacking to get back to 2-2.”

Roughly a quarter-hour earlier, in the 62nd minute, LAFC drew level through Diego Rossi’s first tally of the year. The Uruguayan forward combined with Latif Blessing and Corey Baird, with their sweeping move instilling hope that a road victory could emerge from the derby.

Rossi’s strike was the culmination of periods of dominance, where LAFC forced Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond into several key saves. During the first half, Bradley’s group even sometimes played with one center back (Murillo) deep in possession, allowing Blackmon and Eddie Segurato advance upfield and create overloads.

By game’s end, LAFC won the shots battle (17-11), expected goals charge (1.5-1) and possession tug-of-war (61.1%-38.9%). But their control couldn’t procure three points, with LAFC now winless since opening with a Week 1 dispatch of expansion side Austin FC.

“In certain situations, we left too many gaps and they were on top of second balls,” Bradley said. “And then when we went to get tight, we were late and made so many poor fouls late in the game that just allowed the game to slow down and take away our chances to push. I thought at 1-1, we needed to really take control and finish them off. Just didn’t find a way to do it, so that part, I’m not satisfied.”

LAFC continued to play without Carlos Vela, the 2019 Landon Donovan MLS MVP. Asked about Vela’s injury, Bradley noted they’ve grown accustomed to playing without their star forward after he made just four starts (seven appearances) during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. On opening weekend, he was removed after 22 minutes.

“He was back in a little bit of training this week, still not able to really push things at full speed,” Bradley said. “It’s a minor quad injury, but for a footballer, a quad injury is something that you can’t always put an exact timeline on.

“We’ve played a lot of games without Carlos in the last 18 months, so we’ve coped with it pretty well. We know how important he is to us, but we also know that we’re a good team when we really push games and when guys are fully committed. We’ve done that, and so we’ve got to find the right way to move Carlos back into it so that he can be at his best when we think back to 2019 and then a little bit at the beginning of last season and a little bit at the end of last season.”

LAFC are winless in three, drawing Seattle at home before splitting the points at Houston last weekend. Then they dropped this crucial rivalry match, with the all-time series now a 5W-3L-3D tilt in LA’s favor across all competitions.

The road ahead won’t get any easier, with a trip to the high-flying Sounders on the horizon next Sunday. Across all areas, Blackmon feels they need to fine-tune and sharpen up.

“At the end of the day, it’s can we clean up things? Can we be better in the final third? Can we clean up shop in the defensive half? Just be better all around,” Blackmon posed. “Can we do things more intensely or with a bit more intelligence? It’s just working on those details and refining things. I think it’s a process always, but we’re looking to get back as soon as we can and keep doing things better each day in training. That’ll translate into games, so we’re looking forward to that for sure, to keep working.”

A Michael Jordan game-worn North Carolina Tar Heels jersey sold for $1.38M at an auction on Saturday.

It is the only known Jordan game-worn jersey from his college career.

The jersey was photo-matched to the 1982-83 season, when Jordan won the NCAA player of the year award from Sporting News.

The jersey previously sold at an auction for $63,500 in 1999, which was a record at the time.

The $1.38M price also broke a record for a previous game-worn Jordan jersey from the 1986-87 season, which sold for $480,000.

The Orlando Magic are planning to sign Donta Hall for the rest of the season, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.
